The BrahMos can travel upto 3000 kms to reach it’s target and that is why it is considered a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile. The BrahMos can be deployed from air, water or land and as such has the capability of being launched from submarine, ships, aircraft, or land.
A man employed with the (DRDO) Defence Research and Development Organisation was arested today on suspicion of passing on sensitive details about the nuclear compatible BrahMos medium range cruise missile.
The DRDO employee was identified as Nishant Agarwal. He was detained from Maharashtra’s Nagpur in a joint maneuver carried out by the UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Maharashtra ATS, and Military Intelligence.
Agarwal was working at a BrahMos construction centre near Nagpur since the last 4 years. He is suspected to have shared confidential material and technical information about the BrahMos missile structure with agencies from Pakistan.
Raids linking to the suspected espionage were continuing as of this very moment.
